I fought an epic battle with my new Alima Pure mineral eyeliner this morning. And I decidedly LOST. In my attempt to reduce or maybe even eliminate nasty ingredients, I have turned to mineral pigments. I realized before playing this game that loose pigments are harder to work with than pressed powders. However, this sh*t is B.A.N.A.N.A.S.
All the weapons in my arsenal were used to tame the flecks. The beguiling bluish black shimmer continued to flake off my eyelids and onto my cheeks just like the poppy seeds on this everything bagel I’m eating keep clinking onto my plate. I used every brush and every level of dampness possible. I had some short-lived success pressing it into my lash line firmly. But it just flaked in smaller bits and disappeared at the slightest touch of my smudge brush.
Saffron Rouge’s return policy/method kind of sucks, so I’d rather give it a proper trial than go through the trouble to get my measly few bucks back. If anyone is a regular user of mineral eyeliners, particularly this one, I’d love to hear from you. Until then, the battle ensues.
On the other hand, I’ve been very pleased with my Lily Lolo eyeshadows. They’re gorgeous on and easy to work with.
