Wardrobe Management

Since losing weight and leaving a corporate job, I have steadily been rebuilding my wardrobe. And I realize just how terrible I am at doing so. I buy on love vs. need; a method that has abandoned me in fashion no-man’s land. You see, when you only have a small number of pieces to choose from and they are all as batsh*t crazy as these shoes, you end up with nada to wear on a daily basis.

Now, I don’t own these shoes, but I love them. Which means I’m thinking about them. They are one part tribal, one part tiki, and one part nautical. That’s three parts utter lunacy. Continue reading

New Year’s Resolutions

Normally, I don’t do resolutions. After the holidays, I get a bit down with Christmas withdrawal. After all the celebration is done, I gotta follow some self-imposed rules? No thanks? I never even seem to remember what it is I resolved to do after a paltry couple of months. However, I’ve been inspired by a fellow blogger to at least make an effort. So I resolve to do the following three things:

  1. Take better care of my hands and nails. Specifically keep them moisturized, polished and gloved as necessary from the cold and sun.
  2. Get my bangs professionally trimmed. I am notorious for extemporaneously whipping out the scissors at the realization that I have only seen the bottom half of the world for days on end. And while I think I do a decent job, I am pretty sure it annoys my hairstylist.
  3. Make better use of all items and accessories in my wardrobe and jewelry drawer. This will take more time in the morning and maybe even some planning the night before, but there are too many articles of clothing, jewelry, hats, scarves, and shoes that see too little action. Either that or they are bored with their usual pairings.

So those are my resolutions and I’m sticking to it. Thank God there’s Downton Abbey to look forward to in January. Happy New Year dear Readers!

Xoxo,

M
